Information for registered participants

The aim of the conference is to present aspects of the History of Mathematics, including its impact on the Teaching of Mathematics, to provide a forum to meet each other, and to give an opportunity for young researchers to present their results on the history of mathematics. We invite our colleagues, students, graduate students and other researchers to take part in the meeting.

The meeting will be hosted by the University of Szeged, Hungary, the city where famous mathematicians like Frigyes Riesz, Alfréd Haar, Tibor Radó, Béla Kerékjártó, László Kalmár, László Rédei, Gyula Szőkefalvi-Nagy have lived. The programme of the conference will be scheduled on 20th, 21st and 22nd May 2010.

Contributions

Each participant will be given the possibility of presenting his/her contribution as a short (15 minutes) talk or a poster. Refereed papers will be published in the conference volume.

Call for papers

  • Authors are invited to submit an abstract to the Organisers
  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • Begin a new line for each author: author’s full name (SURNAME in capital letters) followed by affiliation, city, country, and e-mail address.
  • Begin text on a new line.
  • The length of the text should be between 100 and 350 words.
  • Please use the on-line registration form for sending the abstract,
  • or send it by e-mail to one of the members of the organizing committee.

Deadline for submission extended to: 20 March 2010
Notification of acceptance: 30 March, 2010
(for early registrations within 10 days)

Please use the on-line registration form available on the conference web page, where you can fill in the date of your arrival and departure, your option for accommodation, and submit your abstract.
Alternatively please register by e-mail, sending a message to Péter Körtesi (matkp(at)uni-miskolc.hu) or any member of the organizing committee. Please do the same if submitting your abstract after registering or to communicating any other problem.

Early registration (Before 31st March, 2010) 100 EUR
Later and on spot registrations: 130 EUR
Accompanying person and students 80 EUR

Refund

- 80% minus bank charges, if cancelled before March 31.
- 40% minus bank charges, if cancelled before May 1.

The list of registered participants will appear on the conference site. Please check your data.
Upon acceptance the submitted abstract will be included in the list of abstracts.
Programme details and last minute information will appear in due time on the conference site, and any change will be communicated to you by e-mail.

Accommodation

Participants may book accommodation using the registration form.
When booking please indicate the date of your arrival and departure, and special info: eg. Non-smoking, vegetarian meals etc.

For registered participants we will book accommodation according to the registration details. Participants will pay their own accommodation on arrival.

Conference volume

The refereed contributed papers will be published in a conference volume. The authors of accepted contributions are requested to send in 2 copies (an editable Word or tex version, and a pdf format version) before the end of April 2010.
The conference volume/CD is planned to be ready for the meeting.
The price of the printed volume will be 50 EUR on the spot or 60 EUR if shipping is required. Alternatively the CD version may be purchased for 20 EUR.
