Maintaining, developing and improving international relations in education, training and research are regarded as issues of the utmost importance at the University of Miskolc.

The main areas of international cooperation:

- joint projects in training and research
- short study trips and scholarships
- international conferences and workshops
- exchange of visiting lecturers, experts and students
- study and placement of students abroad
- participation in the work of international organisations
- department projects, professional cooperation

International relations are mainly based on cooperation agreements with foreign partner-institutions. Apart from cooperation agreements, the University is also involved in a great number of projects at both faculty and departmental levels, and takes part in professional cooperation and the professional activities of international organizations.
