NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

Aims and Scope

Frequency of the Journal
One issues a year (approximately 14-16 papers are pulished, maximum 15 pages per papers)

Submission of Manuscripts
Submission of a manuscript implies that

- the paper has not been published, nor is being considered for publication elsewhere and that

- permission for publication, if needed, has already been obtained from appropriate sources.

All papers should be written in standard grammatical English; this is the responsibility of the author(s). Two copies of the manuscript should be submitted on pages of A4 size. The text is to be 130 mm wide and 190 mm long and the main text should be typeset in 10pt CMR fonts. The length of a paper can not be more than 10 pages except the invited papers. Each paper should be provided with an English Abstract of about 50--100 words, reporting concisely on the objective and results of the paper. The English Abstract is to be followed by the Mathematical Subject Classification and then the keywords.

The journal prefers the submission of papers in LaTeX. For the purpose of refereeing, papers should initially be submitted in hardcopy (twofold) to the Editor in Chief Prof. Dr. T. Tóth. The eventual supply of an accepted- for-publication paper in its final camera-ready form (together with the corresponding file(s) on an MS--DOS diskette), will ensure more rapid publication.

Format requirements are provided by the home page of the journal from which sample LaTeX and AmS-LaTeX files can be downloaded:

http://www.uni-miskolc.hu/home/web/pumns/mathematics

These sample files can also be obtained directly (via e-mail) from
P. Huszák.

huszak@alpha.iit.uni-miskolc.hu

Twenty offprints of each paper will be provided free of charge and mailed to
the correspondent author.

DOWNLOADABLE FILES

The file sample.zip contains the whole text of a paper and the corres- ponding figure files. After unzipping the files into a directory (say, into the directory c:\sample) one can translate and view them by using Scientific Word 3.0 or Scientific Workplace 3.0, each of which is a front end to LATEX under Windows 95 or NT operating systems.

Pumns.tex is a sort of style file which should be put into the same
directory as the content of the sample.zip file.

If you work under UNIX load down the file with name sampleu.zip in which
the sample.tex file is typeset in portable format.
