ACCOMMODATION

The halls of residence are situated on the campus site within a reach from the academic blocks of the university. The seven buildings next to each other accommodate some 1,800 students.

Exchange students

In all cases, foreign exchange students are provided with accommodation in the halls of residence on campus. The standard of rooms is modest, but the price is quite cheap (HUF 6,000 /person/month in a 4-bed room; HUF 12,000 /person/month in a 2-bed room, which is doubled if you occupy the room alone). Students have to be prepared to share a room with other students if halls are overcrowded in certain periods of the year, and accommodation cannot be arranged in any other way.
Please note that private accommodation for exchange students (e.g. flat/house renting) is not usual in Hungary: owners are reluctant to let their flats to foreign students just for a few months, but they insist on letting the flats for a longer period of time (minimum one year) with a 6-month advance payment. If you want to reserve a place in the hall of residence, please contact the programme coordinator or officer at least one month prior to your arrival.

Fee-paying students on degree courses

Fee-paying students will have an advisor who will help them find accommodation in the town. Temporary accommodation can be provided for a short period of time in the hall of residence before you rent a flat in the town. This temporary accommodation is only given to students who arrive before the beginning of the academic year.
