COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD)

Design is an engineering activity of great importance. Subjects in elective group called Computer Aided Design (CAD) were selected with the objectives of providing the students, on one hand, with solid knowledge and background to understand contemporary design techniques and, on the other hand, of developing skills and designing ability for applying these theories in practice. Useful and informative graphically based techniques are combined with computer assisted methods, including applications of interactive graphics which provide the students with powerful design tools.

Special emphasis is laid on the questions
  • what should be meant by design,
  • how creativity can be taught and developed,
  • how design methodology or philosophy can be formulated and practised,
  • how engineering design can be rationalised and systematized.

Many actual design examples and case studies from industry are included in the materials of various subjects offered to the students.
