Title of the vocational seminar: international institutions of Human
Rights Protection (III. semester)
II.
Aim of the vocational seminar: Introducing the main Hungarian and
international schools, historical periods with special institutions, scientific
groups and main directions related to the Human Rights Protection to the
PhD-students. Jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights and its
analysis play a dominant role.

System of work:

The main historical events of development of the international Human
Rights Protection
2.
The doctrine before change of regime in Middle and Eastern Europe
3.
Scientific groups and journals dealing with Human Rights Protection in
Hungary and abroad
4.
Human Rights Protection and its documentation in the United Nations (I):
mechanisms of Human Rights Protection
5.
Human Rights Protection and its documentation in the United Nations (II):
grave breaches of human rights and the international criminal courts
6.
European Convention of Human Rights (I): structure, functions and reforms
7.
European Convention of Human Rights (II): jurisdiction
8.
European Convention of Human Rights (III): jurisdiction
9.
Other mechanisms of Human Rights Protection in the Council of Europe
IV.
Requirements for the exam:
The
PhD-students can chose between two way of giving account.
a)
writing a study in a subject connected to the subject of the seminar
(40000 characters) and “protecting” of that study. The study can be written also
about the summarising and critical introduction of the main productions of the
vocational literature in the field of Human Rights.
b)
oral exam about the compulsory materials
