Internationalization forms an integral part of the institutional development strategy of the University of Miskolc. The aim of the University is to provide its students, lecturers, academic and business partners with such a stimulating and facilitative international environment where they can conduct research and carry out academic activities at the highest level. 

In order to reach this aim, the University sets the following goals: increasing the quantity and quality of study programmes offered in English; increasing the number of incoming and outgoing mobility of students and staff as well as the number of  visiting professors;  increasing the number of double-degree programmes­; creating a student-friendly international service network at the campus; developing the research portfolio of the faculties; creating an internationally active academic and research network of partner universities worldwide.

At present, the 7 faculties and 1 institute of the university offer 12 full degree master and 6 doctoral study programmes in English. The number of courses offered in English for incoming exchange students exceeds 400. The constantly growing number of international students (degree and exchange) exceeds 400 in 2020.

The University actively participates in international mobility programmes (Erasmus+, ICM, CEEPUS,) and offers full degree scholarship programmes (Stipendium Hungaricum) to its international students worldwide, furthermore, it is an active partner of numerous Horizon 2020 research projects.

The more than 120 international inter-university agreements of the University provide our students and academic staff with challenging and exciting international experience, opening up new perspectives not only in the field of education but in the field of research too.
