Mechanical Engineering Faculty leaders meet in Miskolc

30. January 2017. 10:40

On January 27 a day-long meeting was held among leaders of the faculties of mechanical engineering from three universities: Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Szent István University (Gödöllő), and the University of Miskolc.

The meeting was a continuation of a decades-long tradition among the mechanical engineering faculties that were established earliest in Hungary. Their leaders meet each year to discuss issues of engineering education. The three faculties take turns hosting the gathering; in 2017 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics at our University was the host.

During the meeting the leaders discussed topics such as the consequences of the new training and outcome requirements and conditions for engineering programmes of a high standard, exchanged opinions about issues concerning the changes underway in doctoral programmes, shared experiences with the introduction and management of practice-oriented programmes (cooperative programmes, dual programmes), and agreed on plans for submitting a joint EFOP grant proposal. The morning’s meeting was followed by a working lunch, concluded by demonstrations of experiments and laboratory visits.
