Overview of activities

The University joined the Erasmus Programme in 1998. Since then, it has implemented more than 3500  student and staff mobilities Europe wide, with its constantly growing number of Erasmus partner universities, which at present approximates 200.

The University was among the first Hungarian universities to join the programme when it was launched in 2014. Starting with only 2 partners and 15 mobilities, the programme has undergone a rapid growth at the University not only in numbers but also in popularity. Today the number of partners exceeds 10 and one third of the overall exchanges are implemented via the ICM programme.

The  Central European exchange programme is designed for students and teaching staff to  connect countries and universities with common history and similar academic traditions in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The programme is financed by the governments of the participating countries and it gives opportunity for closer regional cooperation. The University has been participating in CEEPUS since 1994 and has 8-10 running networks per academic year, with a total of about 900 mobile participants and 40 partner universities so far.

Launched and financed by the Hungarian Government in 2013, the SH scholarship programme offering full degree studies to international students has become the most important international student recruitment means of the University of Miskolc. The number of scholarship students show a steady growth year by year. The yearly intake approximates 200 students.

International Alumni Association was launched in 2019 with the aim to establish long-

lasting ties with the international graduates, offering its members  the opportunity to reconnect and interact with former peers, friends and faculty members of the Alma Mater, to relish and refresh old or recent  memories. We encourage all former students  to visit and become active members of the  website at alumniworld.uni-miskolc.hu, which offers  a wealth of UM related information as well as networking and mentoring opportunities.

The University of Miskolc awaits all purposeful and motivated students who wish to pursue studies at one of the 18 English language study programmes of the University, which has a unique campus, well equipped laboratories and lecture halls, several student hostels and services - all in a multicultural, vivid and culturally rich atmosphere.
