Student Ambassadors

Yetzabel Flores

Faculty of Earth Science and Engineering

I am an Ecuadorian student of the Environmental Management Institute who arrived in Miskolc in Autumn, 2017 as Stipendium Hungaricum holder for a MSc program, and nowadays is a second year PhD candidate in Hydrogeology. During my way through the hydrogeology studies, I had collected theoretical and practical knowledge, I had the opportunity to see from near the water management procedures and policies of Hungary, and I had acquired working experiences by the Summer Practice and Institute Investigation projects enrollment.

But not everything is only about studies, there is a cultural and social part as well.  The campus offers the opportunity to interact into a wonderful international community, which is composed by the Hungarian students as host country plus all the new nationalities arriving to the university. I have made amazing friends from around the world from this life experience.

The University of Miskolc is a well-known educational institution in Earth Science, supported with a history of hundreds of years. As International Students, the door to it is open to become part of this experience by studying some of the numerous courses offered by the institution with English classes. The geographic location makes the campus a perfect study spot surrounded by nature, but near the city as well.

Isaac Tsiwah

Faculty of Material Science and Engineering

I come from Ghana,  West Africa.

I came to study in this university in the beginning of September 2019/2020 academic year to the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering (MAK) at the Institute of Polymer and Ceramics studies.

I happily joined the International Alumni Network (IAN) and gave my all to the IAN in any capacity from which I could serve. From becoming a volunteer during most of the IAN's programmes, performing, etc till I was given the ultimate opportunity as a foreign  student to serve as the INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AMBASSADOR  for my Faculty (MAK).

I should say that becoming the ISA has been a very great honour, although  the COVID 19 PANDEMIC  situation didn’t allow us to operate in our normal and maximum  capacity.  I look to help promote the image of UM  both in and outside Hungary by collaborating with the office of the International Relations office (IRO) after my graduation to help ‘sells the university in my home country.

My admonition to the current and prospective students is: THEY SHOULD HAVE OPEN MINDS, BE BRAVE and Courageous enough to go for whatever they think they desire and they should try to mingle with the international community. They shouldn’t discriminate amongst people by race, colour or country. They should be ready to learn from different people and their stay on the land of this University would be very memorable. I wish everyone All the best the best in the school.
