When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?

I began my academic journey at the University of Miskolc in 2024. A comfortable and supportive environment was essential for me, and I feel fortunate that our campus offers excellent facilities and is surrounded by nature

What was your first impression when you arrived in Hungary? Did you notice any cultural differences?

As soon as I arrived, Freshmen’s Camp began, which helped distract me from feeling homesick. Like many international students, I noticed big differences and couldn’t help but compare. Hungarian culture was quite different from mine, but I slowly got used to it.

What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?

In my case, the main challenges were the language barrier and cultural differences. Hungarians aren’t very outgoing, so it was difficult for me to connect with local students at first. But thanks to the support of my friends, things gradually became easier

In your opinion, what makes the University of Miskolc stand out among other Hungarian universities?

What makes the University of Miskolc stand out among other Hungarian universities is its beautiful campus combined with the strong sense of community among students.

What do you like the most about campus life at the University of Miskolc?

What I like the most about campus life at the University of Miskolc are the opportunities in sports, as students can improve their health through a wide variety of activities ranging from yoga classes to Thai boxing.

What kinds of activities, programmes or student organizations have you taken part in during your studies at the university?

My favorite activity during my studies was the international dinner, where you get to try different foods and start to understand your friends’ cultures.

What are the places and activities that an international student should definitely visit or try in Miskolc?

To watch the sunrise or sunset at Avas Hill in Miskolc.

Do you and other students from your country (or similar cultural background) keep any of your traditions while living in Miskolc? If yes, can you give an example?

Yes, my friend and I, who are from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, try to keep our traditions while living in Miskolc. One way we do this is by cooking our traditional dishes together.

What skills and benefits have you already gained from studying at the University of Miskolc?

I realized that you truly have to give 100% both in your studies and in life. Only then will you see real results.

What kind of academic support have you received from the university or your faculty?

One of my professors was very kind and helped me deal with the problems I had in my classes. And our coordinators were always ready to guide and support us.

How do you think your degree of the University of Miskolc will help you in your life and career?

The program I’m studying is in high demand, and I’m confident that it will help me in my future life.

What is the most important thing or advice you would recommend to active/future students of the University of Miskolc?

Try to make friends, because it’s hard to live in a country where you don’t know anyone. And most importantly — enjoy life and work on making it better every day.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to help active/future students of the University of Miskolc?

If I could choose a superpower, I would choose the ability to control time. This would help students manage their schedules better. I could also help organize events and make sure no one feels rushed or stressed
