The University of Miskolc and SMark Technology Zrt. have entered into a strategic partnership covering both education and research, which play a key role in the development of the logistics sector.
The partnership aimed at supporting the knowledge-based economy includes active support for scientific research, the development of practice-oriented educational programs, and ensuring high-quality professional training for university students.
Logistics and industrial digitalization have been given a separate chapter in the University of Miskolc’s education and research strategy for 2030, but they are also included as a focus area in the university’s Science Park project, outlined Prof. Dr. Péter Szűcs, Vice-Rector of the University of Miskolc, at the signing of the cooperation agreement. He emphasized that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology has a separate institute dedicated to logistics, whose scientific work has gained international recognition in recent years.
The strategic goal is to strengthen future-oriented education and research, which would be inconceivable without industrial and foreign connections,
he said, referring to the long-standing partnership with SMark Technology Zrt. in Miskolc.
The company’s CEO, László Szentléleki, praised the existing cooperation with the University of Miskolc, which will be taken to a higher level with the signing of the agreement. The latest stage of this cooperation was the launch of a training course on dangerous goods logistics in September this year. As he said, they can represent the development of logistics systems at the institution that revolutionize origin protection and product tracking. They expect the university partnership to further strengthen their competitiveness, he emphasized.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Zoltán Siménfalvi, highlighted the renewal of training programs in connection with industrial cooperation and the possibility of launching specialized and continuing education programs tailored to corporate needs, while the Director of the Logistics Institute, Prof. Dr. Péter Tamás spoke in detail about the added value that industrial knowledge and technology bring to research and development and scientific work.
