Indonesian Ambassador Penny Dewi Herasati visited the University of Miskolc, where, after a meeting with the rector, she gave a lecture to the university’s students and answered their questions.
After meeting with university officials to discuss opportunities for educational and research cooperation, Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Penny Dewi Herasati gave a presentation on Indonesia’s political system, economy, electoral system, and the state of democracy in Indonesia. The program was attended by Hungarian and foreign students whose studies are related to these topics. They asked the ambassador questions about the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, the Indonesian higher education system, green energy, and the country’s diverse composition, among other things.
Social and cultural relations
Relations between Indonesia and Hungary in the field of higher education are becoming increasingly close thanks to cooperation agreements between universities, which include student and teacher exchanges, joint research, joint publications, and seminars.
The Indonesian government provides scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs at various Indonesian universities. This year, a Hungarian student is pursuing a master’s degree in history at the University of Indonesia.
Since 2016, the Hungarian government has been offering Indonesian students the opportunity to pursue their higher education studies at various Hungarian universities with the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship.
