Every two years, the National Council of Scientific Students awards the ProScientia Gold Medal to students for their academic achievements throughout their entire student career. This year, the Council awarded 50 gold medals, including one to Kata Horváth, a student at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Miskolc.

Pro Scientia, Pro Arte and Junior Pro Scientia Gold Medals are awarded to young people who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their studies and in their chosen field of specialisation, in the form of coursework, lectures or literary, artistic or scientific works. The Gold Medal does not recognise a presentation at a conference, but rather an outstanding individual on the basis of the overall performance of the student.

The Master Teacher Gold Medal was established in 1997 by the National Council of Scientific Students’ Associations (OTDT) to better recognise and encourage teachers and researchers who have contributed to the development of scientific activities of students and university students in the form of scientific student groups, professional colleges or other forms of self-study, beyond the scope of compulsory education.

This year, the OTDT Master Teacher Gold Medal in the Technical Section was awarded to Prof. Dr. Márton Benke, lecturer at the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering of the University of Miskolc.
