TDK Celebration: Recognized Supervisors, Awarded Students

The Scientific Students’ Associations Council of the University of Miskolc awarded certificates to students who achieved outstanding results at the Scientific Students’ Conferences, as well as to their supervisors for their excellent mentoring work. At the award ceremony, the university leadership expressed gratitude for their contributions, which have enhanced the reputation of the University of Miskolc.

Between 20 November and 11 December 2023, during the autumn Scientific Students’ Associations (TDK) sessions, and between April and May 2024, during the spring conferences, a total of 352 presentations were delivered in 63 sections. At the institutional autumn conference held between 24 October and 13 December 2024, organized by the eight faculty-level Scientific Students’ Associations Councils, 283 presentations were delivered across 48 sections.

At the ceremonial session of the Scientific Students’ Associations Council of the University of Miskolc, the most successful supervisors of the 2023 and 2024 institutional TDK conferences were awarded the Excellent Supervisor Certificate in recognition of their outstanding mentoring work.

Esélyért Award Ceremony

In 2010, the University’s Scientific Student Council established the Esélyért Award (Award for Equal Opportunity) to strengthen the values of solidarity and support the fight against poverty and social exclusion. This recognition is granted to students and their supervisors whose thesis focuses on topics related to equal opportunities, or if the student belongs to groups protected under equal opportunity policies, such as persons with disabilities or those facing ethnic discrimination.

This year, the Esélyért Award was presented to Gabriella Borai from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Title of her thesis: Learning Opportunities of Disadvantaged Roma Youth (Supervisor: Assistant Professor Dr. Dorina Ludnikné Pálfi)

“Being the best among the good is a great achievement. Although it is often said that the TDK is not a competition but a conference, placing in the TDK is still a significant accomplishment both for the individual and for the university.”
