From 15 April to 30 May, the festival welcomed audiences with a wide range of concerts featuring world-renowned artists and young virtuosos. Events were held not only on the university campus, but also at various locations across Miskolc and the region, including the House of Arts, the downtown Reformed Church on Kossuth Street, the ceremonial hall of the Miskolc Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the L’Huillier–Coburg Palace in Edelény, Erzsébet Square, and Csengey Garden.

Once again this year, classical music formed the backbone of the festival’s programme. Organized by the Bartók Béla Faculty of Music, a total of 24 concerts were held, featuring ensembles made up of the Faculty’s students, award-winning young musicians, and the Faculty’s performing arts lecturers. The festival also welcomed internationally acclaimed artists such as violinist Kristóf Baráti and pianist Károly Binder, who performed with his jazz trio at the Music Palace. A special concert was dedicated to showcasing former students of Miskolc’s music education who have since gained recognition.

At the festival’s closing concert, Professor Dr. Péter Szűcs, Vice-Rector of the University of Miskolc, emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting the cultural life of the region. As he stated, the university “fulfils its mission as a mediator of culture through the arts.”

The Spring Festival is among those culture- and art-promoting events that led to the University of Miskolc being nominated for the ‘University of the Year 2025’ award.
