When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?
I started my studies in September 2024. I chose Miskolc because of its peaceful countryside lifestyle and its smaller size, which offers a closer connection to nature.
What was your first impression when you arrived in Hungary? Did you notice any cultural differences?
Budapest made a great first impression, it’s a stunning city, and I was especially fascinated by the Parliament building. One thing that really stood out to me was the public transportation system. I appreciated how punctual it was (most of the time) and how easy it was to navigate.
Miskolc was almost exactly as I imagined, more peaceful and closely connected to nature. Unfortunately, I also noticed that some areas of the city are not very well preserved, which is something quite common in many places around the world.
What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?
In the beginning, my biggest challenge was adapting to the academic methodology, for example, the oral exams. However, after taking my first exam, I understood how the system worked, and it became much easier to manage.
Since it wasn’t my first time living abroad, the overall adaptation process was quite smooth for me.
