Before making any accommodation payment, the following information should be reviewed carefully. This summary is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute the full Accommodation Regulation. The detailed terms, conditions and procedures governing accommodation are set out in the University’s Accommodation Regulation.

Eligibility

Accommodation may be provided to applicants who:

  • have received a Final Letter of Acceptance / Letter of Acceptance – for exchange students,
  • have paid the applicable tuition fee (where relevant) and the accommodation fee by the specified deadline,
  • and have submitted an accommodation request.

Accommodation options

Accommodation may be provided either:

  • in a University dormitory, or
  • in a University of Miskolc (UM) Partner Housing facility.

Accommodation is allocated according to the University’s accommodation policy and the availability of places.

Arrival

The allocated accommodation place must be occupied by the applicable arrival deadline communicated by the University. Failure to arrive by the specified deadline may result in the cancellation of the accommodation allocation.

Accommodation agreement

Accommodation may only be occupied after the relevant accommodation agreement has been signed. The detailed terms and conditions, including the rights and obligations of the parties, are set out in the accommodation agreement.

Accommodation fee refunds

as stipulated in the Refund Policy of the University.

Partial refund

A partial refund of the accommodation fee may be granted in the documented exceptional cases specified in the University’s Refund Policy. In such cases, 50% of the accommodation fee is retained as a reservation fee.

Full refund

A full refund may be granted in documented exceptional cases, including visa refusal for reasons beyond the applicant’s control, a serious medical condition or the death of a close family member.

Certain accommodation payments are non-refundable in accordance with the University’s accommodation regulations.

No refund can be applied for if the allocated accommodation place is occupied or if the accommodation agreement is signed.
