Grow functional oxide thin films and heterostructures using Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) and related deposition techniques. Prepare TEM/STEM specimens via Focused Ion Beam (FIB) milling for cross-sectional analysis. Conduct atomic-scale characterization with aberration-corrected STEM and EELS to analyze structure, chemistry, bonding, oxidation states, and defects. Investigate structure-property relationships in multifunctional oxides for sustainable electronics, including photovoltaics, ferroelectrics, spintronics, and complex interfaces. Correlate microstructure from growth and preparation with electrical, magnetic, optical, and transport properties using advanced electron microscopy (e.g., vibrational EELS, 4D-STEM).
