Survey among students

The University of Miskolc places a special emphasis on providing quality education. The organisation of quality assurance is responsible for the quality assurance and quality development of the educational and service activities of the University of Miskolc. Among these tasks, the regular assessment of the satisfaction of stakeholders (students, lecturers, non-teaching staff, employers, etc.) plays a key role. In the case of students, the survey is continuous, and the survey of all stakeholders is carried out every two years as part of the organisational self-evaluation. The satisfaction measurement at the University of Miskolc is predominantly carried out through an online questionnaire survey, using data from the Neptun system. Therefore, it is very important to know that from the academic year 2017/18 onwards, the student email address is a mandatory element in Neptun. The surveys are fully anonymous, and the opinions are collected and evaluated using the EvaSys system, which is capable of anonymous evaluation independent of the respondent.

As a student, you may encounter the following surveys:

  • each semester, a course evaluation (also known as the Student Evaluation of Teaching Work, OMHV) for the previous semester (up to several completed courses). As this is the most common test, its questionnaire is constantly evolving to fulfil its role as effectively as possible. Another important development in relation to the survey is that from 2017, course evaluations will be mandatory for students at the University of Miskolc, with the aim of ensuring that as many students as possible take advantage of the opportunity to provide feedback and that measures can be taken to improve the quality of education based on the results. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. The University of Miskolc attaches the utmost importance on hearing your views on education. You can find out what your fellow students think about the courses, the lecturers receive feedback on the courses, and the university and the faculties receive information about students’ opinions on their courses at the university. These opinions can be used to support work to improve the quality of training;
  • as part of the Graduate Career Tracking System (DPR), a so-called incoming motivational survey at the start of training, which asks about academic interest and intentions (catch-up, talent management, etc.), as well as preferences for institutions and courses;
  • additionally, as part of the DPR, an annual intermediate motivation survey helps to gather feedback on student satisfaction with education and services as studies progress;
  • in the semester prior to graduation, we conduct an exit motivation survey as well, to assess your labour market exit needs and to qualify the degree programme and the entire training and service infrastructure.

Subsequent post-closure surveys of graduates of the DPR are also carried out using an online questionnaire: everyone, three and five years. The survey database is provided by the Neptun system’s database. The analysis of the results of the surveys is carried out by the Quality Assurance Centre at university level and by the quality assurance desk officers of the relevant departments at faculty level. The results of the surveys are available on this website once the full survey has been completed.

Completing a student survey may sometimes seem like a tedious and boring activity, but it is one of the most democratic tools in the hands of university students to give anonymous but honest feedback to the institution or departments about the quality of education and services. In all cases, the results of the surveys form the basis for educational development plans and actions, and even form the core of institutional and programme accreditations.

Please support the educational and service development work of the University of Miskolc by actively participating in the surveys!
