Please, choose a quote (from a movie, book, etc.) that best describes you.

“Just because something works doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.” – Shuri (Black Panther)

This quote reflects my belief that true growth comes from constant learning and a drive to improve, even when things already work well.

When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?

I started my studies in the academic year 2024/25. I chose the University of Miskolc because it offers strong support in mechanical engineering, especially in CAD/CAM, which is my focus. It’s a place where I’ve found both academic depth and real-world learning that keeps me growing.

What was your first impression when you arrived in Hungary? Did you notice any cultural differences?

When I first arrived in Hungary, Miskolc felt calm and green — very different from what I was used to. The language and the quiet nature of people were big cultural shifts for me. But over time, I started enjoying the peaceful environment and the unique local culture.

What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?

At first, it was difficult to keep up with assignments and understand the way things worked here. Over time, I developed better study habits and pushed myself to stay disciplined and patient.

In your opinion, what makes the University of Miskolc stand out among other Hungarian universities?

What makes the University of Miskolc special is the balance between academic depth and a calm, student-friendly atmosphere. It gives you space to grow without overwhelming pressure.

What do you like the most about campus life at the University of Miskolc?

What I like most is the peaceful vibe of the campus. It’s green, quiet, and a great place to focus, but there’s always something going on if you want to get involved.

What kinds of activities, programmes or student organizations have you taken part in during your studies at the university?

I have participated in the TDK research program, which was a great learning experience in my field. I also joined several university-organized trips to explore different places in Hungary. One of the most fun moments was taking part in the International Dinner, where we (Pakistan) proudly won 1st place.

What are the places and activities that an international student should definitely visit or try in Miskolc?

An international student should definitely visit places like Lillafüred, the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath, and take time to explore the beautiful nature around the city. The campus itself is peaceful and green, and there are also many local events and trips organized by the university that are worth joining.

Do you and other students from your country (or similar cultural background) keep any of your traditions while living in Miskolc? If yes, can you give an example?

Yes, we do try to keep our traditions alive while living in Miskolc. We have participated in events like the International Dinner and Cultural Day to showcase our food, clothes, and music. During Ramadan, we’ve also organized Iftar gatherings, which helped bring students from different backgrounds together

What skills and benefits have you already gained from studying at the University of Miskolc?

I have become more independent and confident in handling challenges. The university helped me develop both technical skills and a global mindset by working with people from different cultures.

What kind of academic support have you received from the university or your faculty?

I have received strong academic support from the faculty through helpful lectures, lab sessions, and quick feedback on my work. The professors are approachable and ready to guide when needed.
