No, it’s not because we’re trying to meet your whole family! In Hungary, your mother’s name is an official part of your identity and helps with things like residence permits, bank accounts, and other official processes.
If you’re eligible, you’ll take a short online oral exam where we test your motivation and English skills. Think of it as a friendly quiz to show off what you know. Don’t worry, all the tips and requirements are on the programme’s website, so you won’t be flying blind!
Absolutely! No need to panic, if you studied in English at high school or university, just show us an official Medium of Instruction. UM happily accepts this, along with IELTS, TOEFL, or any equivalent certificate.
First, pay your tuition to get your Final Letter of Acceptance, your golden ticket to Hungary! Then grab your Hungarian VISA and come to UM for registration week, and let your international mentor help you settle in and explore the campus.
The programme aims to train highly qualified engineers to address geological and environmental issues related to surface and subsurface waters. There is emphasis on the protection and management of groundwater resources, which is increasingly important in drinking water supply, mineral and medicinal water use and geothermal energy production. Additionally, there is focus on the remediation of contaminated sites to protect water quality and quantity.
Applicants are screened based on the documents uploaded to the Dreamapply system. Those who do not meet the eligibility criteria (relevant bachelor’s degree, language certificate of B2 or higher, or proof of studies conducted in English) are filtered out.
Applicants are assessed based on their uploaded documents and can earn up to 30 points. Points are awarded for professional background (qualification and work experience) based on transcript of records (15 points), motivation letter (10 points), and ranking of the higher education institution where the previous degree was obtained (5 points).
The online entrance exam lasts 20-30 minutes and includes pre-set questions to assess the applicant’s management knowledge, professional skills, thesis or project work, and language proficiency. Applicants can score up to 70 points: for professional background 50 points, spoken language skills 20 points.
Applicants can score a maximum of 100 points (30 points for document assessment and 70 points from the online entrance exam). Those who score at least 60 points will be admitted to the programme. Those who score less than 60 points will be rejected.
Graduates will be equipped to solve problems related t subsurface constructions for various engineering structures, including buildings, tunnels, railways, underground transport systems, reservoirs, earthworks, roads, surface mines, underground mines.
