Student Services: Online Appointment Scheduling and ME HUB Are Coming

The modernization of student services at the University of Miskolc continues with further significant improvements: Starting in September 2026, an online appointment scheduling and customer call system will facilitate in-person services, and the ME HUB—Student Services Hub—is also in development, which will provide interactive assistance 24 hours a day in both Hungarian and English for managing academic matters.

The new services offer solutions tailored to students’ life situations, with the goal of ensuring that administrative procedures pose fewer and fewer obstacles and increasingly become a support service that assists students quickly, clearly, and reliably throughout their entire academic career.

In-Person Administrative Services Are Now More Predictable

One of the most tangible changes this academic year concerns in-person student administrative services: Starting in September 2026, a customer call system will begin operating at the Academic and Educational Organization Groups of the Center for Educational Strategy. With the launch of the system, in-person customer service will become more organized, and online appointment scheduling will also be available. Students will be able to select a time that works for them in advance, which may reduce waiting times on-site.

Digital Support 24 Hours a Day

One of the most important developments in the coming period is the ME HUB—Student Administration Hub, the University of Miskolc’s new interactive platform for academic and administrative services. Rather than a traditional information site, it will guide students interactively, step by step, through various academic and administrative processes.

The platform will be available in Hungarian and English 24 hours a day, so students can receive assistance even when in-person office hours are not available. It’s important to note that ME HUB isn’t designed exclusively for first-year students; it can provide support throughout a student’s entire academic journey—from learning how to use Neptun to course registration, exams, and applications, all the way to more complex academic matters affecting upperclassmen.

The platform, which can be continuously developed and expanded, serves as an educational tool, a digital guide, and a practical resource for administrative tasks all at once.

Electronic Administration

The new services are not standalone developments, but rather milestones in a comprehensive renewal process that has been underway since October 2025. One of the key development priorities of the Center for Educational Strategy is the integration of administrative processes into the Neptun system. The student status certificate, authenticated with an electronic signature, is now available to all students as an e-request, and the completed document—automatically authenticated—can be downloaded directly from the system.

Among other things, administrative tasks related to the University Tutoring Scholarship have been moved to the electronic platform, requests for the re-grading of successfully passed exams, administrative procedures related to reclassification into state-funded degree programs, requests to pay tuition fees in two installments, applications for discretionary permission from the dean, and retroactive course registration.

In many cases, the new processes are no longer simply electronic versions of the previous paper-based procedures. The system automatically verifies certain eligibility and application requirements, thereby speeding up administrative processes, reducing the potential for errors, and minimizing manual administration.

The electronic delivery of student decisions also represents a significant step forward. Instead of the previous postal procedure, documents are now made available on the Neptun Official Notices interface, speeding up communication and reducing paper-based administration.

It’s not just about digitization: the entire system is changing

Another key objective is to standardize the processes related to student progress, so that the handling of various academic situations becomes clearer, more predictable, and more consistent across all faculties. As part of this effort, the complete documentation and standardized procedures for the National Higher Education Scholarship have been updated, the administration related to the issuance of diplomas has been simplified, and more standardized procedures have been established for managing several measures affecting students’ academic progress.
