The engineering programs at the University of Miskolc have been included in the Engirank 2025 ranking, which evaluates the best engineering universities in Europe.
EngiRank is a new type of ranking that allows for the comparison of the quality of engineering and technology programs offered by universities. It helps industry find the best graduates of engineering programs and supports prospective students in choosing the university and the best study or research program for them.
Three Hungarian higher education institutions are included in the EngiRank list, which compares 300 engineering schools in 36 European countries based on research performance, academic-industry collaboration, innovation capacity, inter-university partnerships, and publications: the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (87th), Óbuda University (208th), and the University of Miskolc (220th).
The institutional ranking covers seven engineering disciplines, of which the following disciplines were taken into account in the evaluation of the University of Miskolc: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering.
The data used to compile the ranking comes from the Elsevier Scopus database, the European Patent Office, Horizon Europe, and engineering accreditation organizations (ABET, ENAEE).
The results of EngiRank 2025 were officially announced on December 1 in Brussels at the closing of the seminar “Universities and Industry in the Service of Defense,” which was attended by rectors of leading European universities and representatives of Europe’s leading defense companies.
