Times Higher Education has published its 2027 World University Rankings. Recognized by students, the academic community, and industry experts, the list of the world’s best universities includes 2,297 institutions from 118 countries and territories. According to the revised evaluation criteria introduced this year, the University of Miskolc was ranked between 1,801st and 2,000th.
The THE rankings, published on September 30, 2026, were compiled based on five main areas. The criteria evaluated included teaching, research environment, research quality, international reputation, and industry collaboration.
According to the latest assessment by this leading organization, the University of Miskolc ranks between 1,801st and 2,000th. Although this ranking represents a slight decline compared to last year’s position, there has been progress in the evaluation of the university’s teaching, research environment, and research quality, as well as in the strengthening of its industry ties.
In its summary of the 2027 rankings, THE also notes that in 2026, the University of Miskolc was ranked 1251+ in engineering and 1001–1250 in the natural sciences.
Thirteen Hungarian universities were included in the 2027 Times Higher Education rankings, along with three additional universities that applied for evaluation.
