One of the world’s most respected higher education ranking systems, the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, examined thousands of universities around the world based on their performance in specific academic fields. In compiling the subject rankings, it assessed the quality of education, research activity and its impact, as well as industrial and international partnerships, so inclusion in these lists is a significant recognition.
The University of Miskolc’s inclusion in the lists for natural sciences (Physical Sciences – 1001-1250th place) and engineering (Engineering – 1251+ place) indicates that the institution’s educational and research performance is competitive internationally in these key areas. Being included in the ranking is not only a matter of prestige, but also an important tool for building international cooperation, strengthening the position of the University of Miskolc in the global higher education arena and proving that Hungarian universities are also capable of competing with the world’s leading scientific and engineering educational institutions.
