Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranked the University of Miskolc among the top 70 universities in Eastern Europe and between 551 and 560 in the European university rankings in its regional summary.
On January 28, a British analysis company that evaluates higher education institutions around the world published its 2026 regional ranking of the best universities in Europe. In addition to Western, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Europe, the list also includes Western Asia as a separate region.
The ranking, compiled on the basis of eight different indicators, including research and development capacity, quality of education, international commitment, sustainability, and employer feedback, includes 162 universities from Eastern Europe, with the University of Miskolc ranked in the top 70. In the ranking of 958 higher education institutions across Europe, the University of Miskolc was ranked in the middle of the field, between 551 and 560.
