The partnership’s work program, which reinforces the key role of education and research in the logistics sector, includes strengthening the Industry 4.0 engineering practical program announced by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, promoting jointly planned education, research, development, and innovation tasks, and developing and supporting technological solutions.

Future-proof education and research can only be achieved with the support of domestic and international industrial partnerships,

said Prof. Dr. Péter Szűcs, Vice-Rector of the University of Miskolc, at the signing of the cooperation agreement. He emphasized that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology is at the forefront of building corporate relationships, with a strong focus on training and research development tailored to industrial needs.

The university background and the training of suitable specialists in specific fields are of key importance for companies, emphasized Csaba Ujhelyi, managing director of Unicranes & Logistics Kft. He added that it is in the common interest to expand students’ practical professional knowledge, and that cooperation also provides mutually beneficial business opportunities for “industry to support the university.”

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology has nearly 140 dual partners, with logistics being one of the most promising areas of development, said Prof. Dr. Zoltán Siménfalvi, dean of the faculty. The faculty relies on companies’ initiatives in developing its research, development, and training programs.

The Logistics Institute of the University of Miskolc deals with the subject area in a “demand-driven” manner in its partnerships, emphasized Prof. Dr. Péter Tamás, director of the institute. In addition to cooperation based on supporting education, the work program plan of the agreement with Unicranes also includes joint service development, the submission and implementation of tenders, and support for industrial partners in the field.
