In collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center, the King Sejong Institute at the University of Miskolc will host a South Korea Day on June 12. The event will showcase the country through music, cuisine, and traditional performances.
The star guest of Korean Day, held in the main auditorium of the University of Miskolc, is the world-famous MayTree, a South Korean a cappella group that builds entire musical worlds using only their voices and has gained global recognition for its creative videos. The traditional arts were represented by the Kkokdu-gwangdae troupe with their spectacular masked dance performance, which blends folk tradition with an interactive community experience. As part of the culinary program, Kim Taeyeon, the Global Kimchi Ambassador, will demonstrate how fermented cuisine can meet the flavors of the Hungarian summer—through reimagined kimchi variations made with seasonal ingredients.
